Closed the door behind me
Walking down the quiet street
Overcast skies welcome the cool
And the pavement meets my feet

SWAG II is ringing in my ears
Forgot my bottle of water
Feeling the slow burning and aches
Knowing its all worth it for her

Introspective thoughts pondering
“In my head it should’ve been easy”
Sings Justin and I think to myself
Solitude is good but not breezy

Catching my breath as I turn the corner
The parade of cars drive down the main road
Some faster than others and I wonder
Why, when I have a heavy load?

The strength of the wind carries me
It’s a welcome feeling, cooling like
When you open the refrigerator
Or riding the hills on a bike

I’m almost home because I took a shortcut
But stop at the bench near the park
And sit down to rest – the sun is shining
It’s warmth leaving a comfort mark

I’m up to the song “Open up your Heart”
I close my eyes and feel the wind
I remember Christ is much the same
Much the same as the wind

Sometimes I don’t feel His presence
And I wonder and become frustrated
But just let the wind remind you
It doesn’t have to be complicated

So I sit there and feel the winds strength
It is all encompassing
And I’m smiling because His love is the same
It’s an honour and indeed a blessing

The wind is blowing and messing up my hair
And I start bursting out laughing to myself
Let the wind remind you of this
He knows the struggles of your health

This thought is making me teary
And a gust of wind pushes me back
Let the wind remind you of this
He’s always got your back

So if life gets too busy and tiresome
Or you have responsibilities
When the wind is blowing or whispering
It’s a reminder of who He is

Loving, kind, honest, faithful
One in purpose with the Father
Let the wind remind you of this
He’s there when life gets harder

As I greet my mother at the door
And respond  to her outstretched arms cue
She asks, “Why are you smiling?”
I respond, “Let the wind remind you”
